ANDREA BRANZI
Andrea Branzi is an italian architect and designer born in 1938 in Florence, where he graduated in architecture in Mailand in 1973. 1964 he founded together with Paolo Deganello, Massimo Morozzi and Gilberto Corretto the group “Archizoom Associati”, leading exponent of Neo-modernism. Branzi is also co-founder of Domus Academy, which has been the first post lauream school of Design in Mailand. During his long career Andrea Branzi has worked with famous brands such as Alessi, Cassina, Vitra and Zanotta and he has won numerous Awards, including Compasso d’Oro in 1987. Branzi isn’t only architect and designer, but also a writer, since he has published many books on contemporary design’s theory and on the history of design. It is also the only one of his field, whose titles have been published three times by MIT press (USA). 2008 he received an honorary degree in Architecture from the faculty “La Sapienza” of Rome. Today he is working as Professor at the Faculty of Design “Politecnico” in Milan.
