DAVID CHIPPERFIELD
A British architect, David Chipperfield attended the Architectural Association in London where he graduated in architecture in 1977. In 1984 he founded his own studio David Chipperfield Architects in London and also works in Milan, Berlin and Shanghai. The studio has won many national and international awards including: the RIBA and AIA awards and the Stirling Award 2007. Over the years he received many awards as: honorary member of the Florentine Academy of Art and Design, Commander of the order of the British Empire (CBE) for services rendered to architecture, Royal Designer for Industry (RDI) and honorary member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA, the Association of Architects of the United States), and of the Bund Deutscher Architekten ( BDA, the association of German architects). In 2011 David Chipperfield received the RIBA gold medal for architecture approved by the Queen of England personally. He is currently an honorary professor at the University of Arts in London.
